Information session on US Tariffs/ EU countermeasures

Dear members,

On 9 May 2025, the European Commission published a list of US import products (see below) that could be subject to EU countermeasures if no agreement is reached in the ongoing trade negotiations with the USA. The list includes imports totaling approximately 95 billion euros and encompasses a broad range of industrial products, including hand tools.

The EU Commission has launched a public consultation with a deadline for submission on 10 June 2025. The objective is to obtain feedback from affected industries on the potential impact of the US tariffs and the planned EU countermeasures.

We therefore invite you to an information session on 21 May 2025 from 11:00-11:30 a.m. (online):

• to inform on the state of play and the EU consultation
• to identify potentially affected product groups and their implications
• to develop a common position and discuss the options for a contribution in the consultation
